Walk with Me

Day 5 – Walk with Me

Key Verse –
1 John 2:6 He who says he abides in [lives in relationship with] Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

“Come on, you can do better than that!”  Your friend says this to you as you continue on. Not wanting to disappoint them, you press yourself harder even though you are already weary and struggling to keep up the pace.  You would never have been able to push yourself this hard, but having your friend with you makes you want to give even more than your all.  They push you to do your best in a way that you never would on your own.

When you have a friend with you to help set the pace and encourage you, you push yourself even harder.  You want to impress them and prove it to them who you really are and that you are worthy of their efforts.  The good thing for you is that living in relationship with Jesus, she is always there to help you walk through daily life.  He walked on this earth and made you worthy of the power and life he has to give.  He sent the Holy Spirit to be with you and help you live beyond what you would be able to on your own.

Have you tried to walk through this life on your own?

Does it encourage you that you are not on your own but can walk with God as your encourager and pacesetter?

God wants you to excel in all things. You can only do this as you walk with Him just as He walks.  He is willing to walk with you and help you in every area of need if you will only ask Him.  He can be your pacesetter and encourager and help you to walk just as Jesus did.

Prayer – God, thank you that you have me the ability to live in relationship with its you. Come and be my encourager and pacesetter. Help me to walk just as Jesus did in purity, power, and pleasing in a Your eyes. I choose to walk with you. In Jesus name, Amen.

Challenge – Commit to live in relationship with Jesus from this day forward and walk with him.  Ask Holy Spirit to reveal to you one way that Jesus walked that you need to work on. Do you need to walk with Him into deeper purity of mind, heart, and body?  Do you need to step more into the power He has for you? Do you need to be more pleasing in what you do, say, and think?  Whatever Holy Spirit reveal, ask Him to help you walk just as Jesus did and how to live it out practically today.
