Yesterday I took the boys to the bookstore. I had to remind my two year old, Elam multiple times to use his inside voice as he frequently forgets the meaning of that phrase.

His favorite Bible story is Jonah. He can tell you all about it and you’ll get saved all over again! I had found a Bible storybook about the animals of the Bible and gave it to him. He was sitting in the cart reading it as I helped Azariah find a book. Elam found Jonah and began telling the story of Jonah who did not listen and obey God. I then heard him flipping through the pages and suddenly, at the top of his lungs he yelled, “IT’S JESUS!!!”

Startled at the volume of the decree that just burst forth from the mouth of my babe, I, laughing, shhh’d him to bring his volume down; but he yelled again, “IT’S JESUS! I FOUND HIM!!!”

I could hear shuffling in the aisles around us, but there was no one in sight. I realized then what kind of witness my two year old held. I also for the first time saw Elam walking out the verse the Lord gave for his life:

Isaiah 40:9-10 (TPT)
Go up on a high mountain, you joyful messengers of Zion, and lift up your voices with power. You who proclaim joyous news to Jerusalem, shout it out and don’t be afraid. Say to the cities of Judah, “Here is your God!”
“Look! Here comes Yahweh as a victorious warrior; He triumphs with His awesome power. Watch as He brings with Him His reward and the spoils of victory to give to His people.”

He is an unashamed, joyful voice shouting from the wilderness, “Behold! The Lamb of God Who takes away the sins of the world!”

Psalm 8:2 (TPT) says, “You have built a stronghold by the songs of babies. Strength rises up with the chorus of singing children. This kind of praise has the power to shut satan’s mouth. Childlike worship will silence the madness of those who oppose you.”

Lesson #1 for us all who are called as messengers of Truth (and that’s every believer!): THIS is who we’re called to be! My two year old in many ways is bearing more fruit for the Kingdom than much of the Church is! Many in the Body are too bound up in fear to declare the joyous News of Jesus upon the mountaintops and would allow the enemy to silence their witness (I am guilty of this myself at times.)

If God builds strongholds upon the praises of His Little Ones that destroys the voice of the accuser, HOW MUCH MORE should we obediently come as Jesus stated, like children before Him?!

It is these ones who will inherit the Kingdom of God!!!

Lesson #2: Never cease to declare the Word of the Lord over your children! You are shaping their destiny through your decrees and actions; and it WILL bear fruit in ALL seasons, whether you see it or not!

Jesus! Make us like children! Help us to decree destiny and to declare Your coming!!! May we shout with a loud voice, “IT’S JESUS! I FOUND HIM!!!”
