New Wine

In prayer this week, I received a powerful word from the Lord. Over the next few posts, I will be sharing what the Lord was saying and how you have the option of partnering with Him in the revival that He is preparing.

Part 1

Joel 2:19

The Lord will reply, “Look! I am sending you grain and new wine and olive oil, enough to satisfy your needs. You will no longer be an object of mockery among the surrounding nations.”

I heard the Lord saying unto me, “Remember the former things that I have done. Remember My goodness. But do not live there. You cannot be sustained and remain alive on old bread, on past moves of My Spirit. I desire to do something new unlike anything you have yet seen or anticipated. So, forget the former things, for I am doing a new thing. I will quench your thirst and satisfy your needs.

Prepare a new wine skin so that it may be filled with the new wine of My Spirit and not buckle under the weight of it. You must be willing to expand and stretch to accommodate what I am doing. If you do this, then I will not only pour out My Spirit to fill your prepared container, but I will fill it until it until it bubbles up and spills over and out onto the atmosphere around you. There will be such an overflow that the region around you will be stained with My Spirit and transform into a new being. Unable to shift back, yes, and complete transformation. Are you ready and willing to throw yourself into the fire that you may be burned up and emerge a new creation, strong enough to carry what I am preparing?”

In this word, I realized that the Lord is full of paradoxes. The Lord called the Israelites to gather 12 stones at the river Jordan and build a monument to the Lord so they would always have a place to go back to as a reminder of His goodness and provision for them. (Joshua 4) He provided for them daily in the wilderness for 40 years, food to eat for that day. When they tried to store up and hoard food, it turned stale and did not replenish their thirst and hunger. He called them/us to remember what He has done in the past and how He has moved for us. But then He turned around and said to forget the former things! (Isaiah 43)

We cannot live on the past moves of His Spirit. We must always be seeking what He is doing NOW and where He is going NEXT! If we try to live off of the past, it will not sustain us in what is to come. It will keep us from moving forward with God into what He desires to do in us and through us. Always keep seeking Him and what He is doing in the present and keep pursuing Him for fresh testimonies of His goodness!

Be on the lookout for part 2 of the Word that the Lord released to me!
